Poverty: The Psychological Impact On Children

Our 2011 conference, held in November, examined how poverty is experienced by children, in particular how children's psychological development is impacted.  Our speakers included ICT partner and non-partner organisations.

 

Sylvia Reyes, Methodological Director of JUCONI in Ecuador, revealed how young children in the poor barrios of Guayaquil are effected by their experiences of violence and abuse.   

 

Sherryl Loseno, Social Worker for Visayan Forum Foundation presented the experiences of children and young adults who get caught up in the illegal trafficking systems in The Philippines.

 

Amanda Weisbaum, International Programme Director of War Child UK spoke about the effect of war and conflict on young lives.
